Jamie Complete’s The Virgin Active London Triathlon

On Sunday 28th July our Managing Director Jamie Barrett managed to complete the Virgin Active London Triathlon, here is what he had to say about the event;

“Swimming isn’t my strength but I managed to get through the 1.5km swim in under 30 minutes, 29 to be exact. Unfortunately I struggled getting the wetsuit off, which was a bit disappointing after a reasonable swim. Bike leg followed and went much better than expected, I got round the 40km route in 1 hour 3 mins. I was expecting between 1 hour 10-15 mins! The run was a little disappointing for me, but really good for the race. Nobody overtook me throughout the whole 10km course and I overtook hundreds of people, significantly adding to my end position.

I came 282 out of 4575 in my field with a final time of 2 hours 20 minutes and 6 seconds (Olympic Distance 1.5km, 40km, 10km) – which I was more than pleased about considering I only started triathlon this year and the London event was my third.”
