At Evolution5 we are passionate about our industry. A significant part of our drive to be at the leading edge of our profession are the activities undertaken out of the workplace.

This week Commercial Director, Darren Foy, has been carrying out APC on behalf of RICS. This saw him interviewing four candidates on the Quantity Surveying and Construction Pathway.

The process is the final step to candidates becoming chartered in their profession – the culmination of many years of hard work.

The assessment comprises a 10 minute presentation by the candidate which is formed from a critical analysis they have undertaken on one of their projects. This is followed by 10 minutes of questions from the panel about the presentation and critical analysis. Finally, there is a 40 minute interview covering the candidate’s professional experience and competencies. Successful completion of the interview will result in a pass, whereupon the individual becomes a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.

Darren’s involvement in this affords us the benefit of keeping up to date with the future of surveying. But more importantly, allows us to be actively involved in welcoming new people into the industry and ensuring high professional standards are maintained.
