Evolution5 provided quantity surveying, contract administrator and principal designer services for the conversion of a 1930’s toilet block into a cool new park cafe set on the edge of Plumstead Common in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The conversion retained as much of the original features and included overhauling the existing slate roof and masonry walls to the north and west elevations. The Southern wall was reconfigured and comprised full height glazing to match the proposed conservatory, which increased natural lighting and created a feeling of space. Externally metal security shutters to glazed areas were installed. Internally the whole area was stripped out and opened up to provide a kitchen/bar, seating area, WCs and small stage area to display local artwork.

The project was delivered in an open and busy public area safely, to a high standard, on time and within the set budget.
