Davina Obstancias Health & Safety and CDM Advisor

Davina is a Health & Safety and CDM Advisor with experience in supporting the safe delivery of construction projects gained through extensive experience working in the industry.

Davina has worked in a range of construction businesses including consulting civil and structural engineers and a Tier 1 construction company. During the course of her career, she has worked in a range of roles including senior contract administrator where she was responsible for managing a team of contract administrators overseeing the delivery of new build and refurbishment projects of varying sizes, working both on-site and from the central office. Facilities management, Health & Safety audits and Considerate Contractor administration were all part of her day-to-day work.

At Evolution5 Davina’s role as H&S and CDM Advisor requires her to work on both the consultancy and construction side of the business.  Where Evolution5 is appointed as Principal Designer, Davina reviews CDM drawings and documents, ensuring risk elements are designed out during the pre or construction phase to leave minimal residual risks once the building is handed over. This requires attending design meetings and producing the pre-construction information and the H&S plan.

Where Evolution5 is appointed as the principal contractor for a project, in addition to the aforementioned tasks, she also leads the construction phase plan (CPP) and site H&S audits.

Davina prides herself on having excellent communication and interpersonal qualities, coupled with a good understanding of the delivery of construction projects gained from working in live site environments, but also in roles including Prison Officer and NHS Policy Advisor.

Outside of work, Davina has a love of travel, spending time with her family & dogs and is an avid football fan. She also volunteers as a School Governor for a local secondary school, a role that complements her activities as a STEM Ambassador.
